Serious problems in the water supply of the areas of Aghia Triada and Ippokrateio of the State of Afidna were caused by the extensive theft of copper cables and electrical systems from the renovated installation of the generator at the pumping station B of Afidna of the Municipality of Oropos.

From the first moment that the theft and water interruption was noticed, there was an immediate mobilization of the Water Supply Service and the technicians of the Municipality of Oropos.

At 09:45 on Sunday, with an alternative electrical installation, power was given to the generator in order to partially restore the water supply.

By Sunday afternoon (2/7) it is estimated that the supply and installation of the new materials will have been done.

Citizens are asked to show understanding for judicious use of water until the damage is fully repaired.

All the staff of the Water Supply Service and the competent deputy mayor Giorgos Armiriotis are on their feet to deal with the problem, while legal actions will be taken to the competent authorities against the perpetrators of the theft.
