Prime Minister Elizabeth Bourne condemned what she described as “intolerable acts” following the attack on the home of L’Haÿ-les-Roses mayor Vincent Jeanbrun. “The perpetrators will be prosecuted with the utmost determination,” the head of government said in a statement.
Jeanbrun was at the town hall at the time of the attack, when the rioters set his car on fire and broke into his home in their own vehicle. The mayor’s wife and two children escaped from the backyard during the attack.

Mayors and citizens are called to gather tomorrow, Monday, in front of city halls across France, whose sirens will sound, following the vehicle attack on the mayor’s residence near Paris, the president of the Union of French Mayors announced today. (AMF).
“AMF has decided to call the elected officials and the population to mobilize, we will not stand idly by (…) and in this context tomorrow at 12:00 (13:00 Greek time) we have decided with (…) everyone call the mayors of France to rallies in the forecourts of the town halls, the sirens will sound (…) and we continue our work every day to restore order,” said David Linard speaking to the TF1 television station.
During the past night, the residence of the conservative mayor of L’Île-le-Rose, in the greater Paris district, was attacked by rioters who threw a vehicle at it, injuring the mayor’s wife and one of the his children while they were trying to escape. The local prosecutor said an investigation into attempted murder had begun.
Prime Minister Elizabeth Bourne today visited the area where the mayor’s home was attacked and reiterated her call for an end to the “unacceptable” violence.
