FedHATTA expresses its satisfaction for the initiative of the Minister of Culture Linas Mendonis to implement the appropriate measures to reduce the waiting time for entering the most important archaeological monument of our country, the archaeological site of the Acropolis.

The plan of the Ministry of Culture to manage the huge number of tourists visiting the holy rock is to issue tickets at a specific time. According to a report by ERT, this is a period of one hour, so that there is a maximum number of visitors per hour.

The program began to be applied as a pilot from June to individual visitors with the aim of expanding in July also to groups, which also cause the greatest overcrowding.

“We await the completion of the reform of the electronic ticketing system, the implementation of traffic zones and the establishment of separate entry points for organized groups of tourists,” says the announcement of the Federation of Greek Associations of Travel & Tourism Agencies.

The president of FedHATTA, Mr. Lysandros Tsilidis stated: “We believe that the waiting time to enter the Monument will be significantly reduced, improving the conditions especially now that quite high temperatures will prevail. We remain ready for the optimization of the operation of the Archaeological Sites and Museums and the methodical promotion of the culture of Greece”.
