From tonight, Wednesday July 5thstart extended road maintenance works on Kifisos Avenue from the Attica Region.

The projects will be carried out by the Directorate of Metropolitan Infrastructure Management in the framework of the project “Maintenance – Improvement of pavement, horizontal and vertical markings of the road axes of N.E.O.A.K. & of L. Kifisos and its accesses, within the jurisdictional limits of the Region of Attica”.

The works are expected to be completed within 1 month and will be held by at night at the descent of Kifisos Avenue from the height of Acharnon street to Piraeuswithout interrupting traffic.

It is noted that the surface that will be covered by the projects reaches 60,000 sq.m.

The asphalting of Kifissos is part of the strategic planning for the improvement of the road network of the Attica Region. It is worth mentioning that a large section has already been asphalted and the entire highway has been illuminated with LED lighting as well as the uneven junctions from Durraki to Petrou Ralli.

The asphalting of the road network is based on the degree of wear of the road surfaces and in the next period of time, the improvement of the asphalt on Syngrou Avenue, Vasilissis Sofias Avenue and Piraeus Street follows.

The Region of Attica asks for the drivers’ understanding and recommends that they pay particular attention to following the instructions of the competent bodies, regulating the speed of their vehicle based on the prevailing conditions.

The Regional Governor of Attica, Giorgos Patoulis points out:

“After decades, projects are being carried out that protect the lives of citizens. With specific and targeted projects, utilizing innovative tools, we will continue to invest in strengthening road safety throughout the road network of our jurisdiction. The value of life remains for us a non-negotiable priority.”
