Litigation at the expense of another two people was formed in the context of an ongoing police investigation of the Department of Environmental Protection of the Directorate of Security of Thessaloniki.
For the case, last October, a 47-year-old man was arrested on his own initiative while he was uncontrollably dumping excavated soil with his truck on a plot of land, resulting in the provocation environmental pollution.
From the investigation by police officers of the Department of Environmental Protection of the Directorate of Security of Thessaloniki, it emerged at the time that the specific waste came from an excavation for the construction of a building in the same area, which he had to hand over to a legally licensed management-recycling company. On the same plot there were four similar mounds of soil evidently from excavations, which had been formed by recent dumping. The result of the uncontrolled discharges was to cause environmental pollution, aesthetic degradation of the area, as well as causing negative effects on its ecological balance.
The two additional people for whom a case file was filed are a 59-year-old and an 87-year-old. As emerged from the police investigation, the above acts were carried out at the behest of the two men on a plot of land owned by the latter with his consent.
The relative case file will be submitted to the competent Prosecutor.
