In its announcement entitled “Coal the treasure – The taunting continues…” for the bill of the Ministry of Finance, which includes, among other things, the new salary list for Public Employees, ADEDY emphasizes that “the alchemy that the government does, adding them to the salaries of all employees are a mockery for the employees in the State”.

“After 13 years, during which not only was no increase given to D.Y., but the 13th and 14th salary was abolished, wages were reduced by 40%, salary was frozen for the two years 2016-17, tax-free was reduced, inflation and the accuracy gallops, the government is literally getting into their D.Y. with an allowance of €45 per month” reports ADEDY.

The announcement in detail

“The bill of the Ministry of Finance was submitted for consultation yesterday, which includes, among other things, the “new payroll” of Public Employees, as the Government christens the bonus policy it follows, torpedoing the concept of a uniform payroll.

Despite the drumbeats and the media hype that, allegedly, there are large increases in the salaries of the D.Y., that these are equivalent to the return of the 13th salary, etc., none of this is true.

The government, instead of substantial increases, grants all public sector workers a gross allowance of €70, which after deduction of deductions amounts to a net amount of €40 to €50 per month.

After 13 years, during which not only was no increase given to D.Y., but the 13th and 14th salary was abolished, wages were reduced by 40%, the 2016-17 wage freeze was frozen, tax-free was reduced, inflation and precision gallop, the government literally interferes with their D.Y. with an allowance of €45 per month.

This is the reality, which, unfortunately, is hidden by the media, which gratuitously displays government propaganda.

Obviously, we are not canceling any increase, neither of the €45 allowance, nor of the family allowances, nor of the liability allowances. We point out, however, that family allowances and liability allowances concern the first 40% of the employees, and the second not even 20%.

The alchemy that the government does, adding them to the salaries of all employees, is a mockery for public sector workers.

After the above, the Executive Committee of A.D.E.D.Y. declares that in the immediate future and during the passing of the bill, he will proceed with mobilizations, in order to claim real increases in the salaries of public employees.

We claim:

– Increases to cover inflation of at least 10% for all D.Y.
– Restoration of the 13th and 14th salary
– Unfreezing of the 2016-17 biennium
– Tax free at €12,000
– Increasing the allowance for dangerous and unhealthy work
– Abolition of the 2% unemployment levy
– Original uniform salary list with real increases in the salaries of public employees, through a collective labor agreement – no connection of the evaluation with the salary and grade development
