ELAS appeals to the drivers of vehicles to be especially careful when passing
Temporary traffic arrangements will take place today, Saturday and tomorrow, Sunday at Athens Avenue in Chaidaridue to execution of pedestrian bridge construction works.
ELAS appeals to vehicle drivers to be particularly careful when passing through the work sites and to follow the existing road markings.
Traffic regulations in detail:
- Complete suspension of vehicular traffic on Athens Avenue, in the traffic flow towards Athens, during the period from Saturday 07-15-2023 at 22:00 to Sunday 07-16-2023 at 09:00.
- Complete suspension of vehicular traffic on Athens Avenue, in the traffic flow towards Elefsina, on Sunday 07-16-2023 and from 02:00 to 06:00.
- Complete stoppage of vehicular traffic, in the traffic flow from Favierou to the intersection with Athens Avenue, during the period from Saturday 15-07-2023 at 23:00 to Sunday 16-07-2023 at 09:00 .
Particularly:
- Total blocking of the roadway in the section of Athens Avenue from Karaiskaki Street to Agoniston Street.
- Gradual reduction of the number of traffic lanes from four (4) to two (2) of Athens Road (on the right side in the direction of Athens) in a length of 290m. before Anexartisias Street and then restriction from two (2) to one (1) until Agoniston Street.
- Gradual reduction of the number of traffic lanes from four (4) to three (3) of Athens Road (on the right side in the current towards Elefsina) in a length of 135m. before ‘Anoixis Street and then restricting two (2) additional right lanes to a length of 250m. to Favierou Street.
- Determination of the maximum speed limit at 60km/h for vehicles moving on Athens Avenue and the 500m section. before the start of the restriction of the right traffic lanes (flow towards Athens and flow towards Elefsina) up to 100m. before the start of the restriction of the right traffic lanes (current towards Athens and towards Elefsina).
- Determination of the maximum speed limit at 40 km/h for vehicles moving on Athens Avenue and the section of 100m. before the start of the restriction of the right traffic lanes (flow towards Athens and flow towards Elefsina) until the diversion of traffic (flow towards Athens and towards Elefsina).
- Prohibition of overtaking for vehicles moving on Athens Avenue and in the section of 300m. before the start of the restriction of the right traffic lanes (flow towards Athens and flow towards Elefsina).
- Determination of the maximum speed limit at 30km/h for vehicles moving on Favierou Street in the direction of Athens Avenue and in the section of 25m. before its junction with the triangular islet.
- Prohibition of overtaking for vehicles moving on Favierou Street in the direction of Athens Avenue and in the section of 25m. before its junction with the triangular islet.
Vehicular traffic will be conducted through the bypass roads as follows:
- For vehicles heading from Elefsina to Athens, the detour will be followed:
- Athinon St., right Agoniston Str. Chaidariou, continue left Rhodes, left Karaiskaki, right Athinon St.
- For vehicles heading from Athens to Elefsina, the detour will be followed:
- Athens Ave., right Favierou, left at the end of the triangular island, right Athens Ave.
