The battle continues on all fronts to deal with the big fire which has been ongoing since Tuesday afternoon at island of Rhodes.

Firefighting aircraft and helicopters are operating from the air, while forest firefighting forces along with volunteers are making their own efforts to prevent the fire from spreading.

The work of the people involved in extinguishing the fire cbut it becomes more difficult due to the weather conditions prevailing in the area. Hot air is created with combs from the burned new hearths, while there are also rekindlings in addition to the fire fronts that continue their destructive work.

At the same time, the Salakou Volunteer Disaster Response Team did appeal for help on the front located in Prophet Elias, as the flare-ups could not be dealt with by the volunteers there.
