Four stores in Athens had not forwarded receipts with a total value of 682,000 euros
Six new “padlocks” were entered by the AADE in stores in Mykonos, Athens and Poros, after cross-checks between POS collections and these cash registers.
These are cases of shopkeepers, who collect but do not return VAT, nor declare their income.
Through the intersections, the controllers identified and “locked” on four catering businesses in Athens, one in Poros and a clothing store in Mykonos.
The businesses were found to have accepted payments via POS, but for which they never issued a receipt, and/or forwarded it to AADE. That is, customers who pay by card, either do not receive a receipt, or receive the receipt, but the store does not declare it to the tax office.
Specifically, in Petralona and Agia Irini Square, four stores were found to have not sent receipts, with a total value of 682,000 euros. In addition to the 48-hour “lockout”, a total fine of 43,000 euros was imposed.
A similar violation was also found in a restaurant in Poros, which had not issued or forwarded receipts for 1,250 euros.
In Mykonos, a well-known clothing store was sealed because it was found that it had not forwarded 424 receipts, with a total value of 61,000 euros.
