The Minister of Health called it completely wrong, Michalis Chrysochoidis, the announcement of the Chalkida hospital, which refers to the profession of the 46-year-old distributor who died of heat stroke. The minister made it clear that he condemns her.

At the same time, he hastened to clarify that the hospital’s announcement does not dispute the reason the 46-year-old died, that it was from heatstroke, and emphasized that the prosecutor has already taken over the case and the state will do everything possible to find those responsible.

The issue was raised by the SYRIZA MP, Nikos Iliopoulos, describing it as unthinkable that the management of the Chalkida hospital still remains in its position after the inhumane announcement that the employee was not a distributor, in order to cover the undeclared work.

“This announcement is a sign of inhumanity towards a worker who lost his life under inhumane conditions. The administration of the Chalkida hospital must not be in place tomorrow. Otherwise, you give political legitimacy to inhumanity,” said Mr. Iliopoulos.

“The communiqué of Chalkida clearly states what the man died of. That he died of heatstroke. The hospital’s statement did not dispute the reason why this man died. He literally died on the street, because as a worker, whatever work he did – in the end it turned out that he was a worker somewhere – he suffered this damage”, emphasized Mr. Chrysochoidis and added:

“But don’t go and attribute to the hospital that it said something different about the cause of death. He made a complete failure, it was a complete failure to refer to this man’s profession and this is really unacceptable, I deplore it, but I say it again and you are hearing it from the mouth of the responsible minister: this man died of heatstroke. From there, the prosecutor will find out who is responsible, if his employer is responsible or who else contributed to this person being on the street at that time. I sympathize with the man’s family. Condolences to his family, we will do everything possible as a state to find those responsible.”
