In the last 24 hours, officers of the Security, Police and Immediate Action Directorates of Thessaloniki made spontaneous arrests of seven people, for thefts and cases of accepting and disposing of proceeds of crime, in areas of Stavroupoli, Efkarpia and the city center.

Among those arrested, a 40-year-old local woman is included, who, after entering a hospital in the city, took four mobile phones from patients, taking advantage of them lying down, as stated in today’s police announcement.

The 40-year-old woman, as explained, was noticed by hospital employees, who informed the Immediate Action Center by phone, with the coordination of which police officers from the AT immediately rushed to the spot. Lefkos Pyrgos and proceeded to locate and arrest the perpetrator. The mobile phones were returned to their rightful owners.

Also typical is the case of the arrest of a 37-year-old foreigner, as in a search carried out in a car he was driving, electronic devices and a watch were found, the legality of which he could not justify the possession of, as well as burglary tools, work gloves and 13 keys to armored doors.

Those arrested, with the files filed against them, will be taken to the Prosecutor, while as assured by the police, patrols and checks will continue with undiminished interest, in order to deal effectively with any similar incidents.
