On Thursday, August 17, the remote control system at the Larissa railway station, which has been received by OSE and is currently in trial operation, is expected to be put into full operation.

As he mentioned speaking to ERT Larisa, the central station master of Larisa, Mr. G. Zindros with the full operation of the remote control, the error of the human factor will now be avoided.

Through this specific system, the Traffic Control Center station in Larissa has real-time information on trains and their locations over a length of more than 200 kilometers. Through the specific system, as explained, interventions can also be made on the keys of the lines, always in consultation with the local station masters.

The remote control, as explained by Mr. Zindros, was working normally since 2007, but the first problems appeared in 2010. Then the first damage to the system was noticed and there was no care for the replacement, theft of cables but also damages caused a few years later and specifically in the summer of 2015 from a fire in Litochoro and in July 2019 from a new fire at the EVZ of Larisa, which permanently put the specific system out of operation.

Finally, it is worth noting the administrative acceptance for use by ERGOSE in the OSE of the project, which took place last Tuesday and concerns the signaling of the section of the double line from Larissa to Platy, 130 km long, and the delivery of the Larissa Traffic Control Center, which controls the circulation of trains on a length of 200 kilometers of double railway track, in the section from Domokos to Plati.
