The first 46 prisoners were taken from GADA detention centers, who are taken to almost all detention centers in the country
Transfers of pretrial detainees for the invasion of Croatian hooligans and the bloody incidents in New Philadelphia began todaywhich resulted in the murder of the 29-year-old AEK fan Michalis Katsouri.
Until morning approximately 70 prison terms had been issued out of a total of 105 prisonersand the extradition of the rest continues, while the first 46 were taken from the detention centers of GADA, who are taken to almost all detention centers in the country. The transfers of the rest, as was known by the Police, due to August 15th, will take place on Wednesday and Thursday.
Specifically, 8 are already in Korydallos prisons, 12 were to be sent to Avlona prisons and the rest will be distributed to Trikala, Larissa, Volos, Nigrita, Komotini, Malandrino, Amfissa, Domokos, Chania, Chios, Grevena, Nafplio, Kos and Thessaloniki prisonsdepending on the capacity of each reservation store.
The concern of the Authorities is how there will be security for the prisoners, that is why the General Secretariat of Anti-Criminal Policy contacted the administrations of all detention centers, which have taken measures for the safe custody of pretrial detainees.
The “headache” of the penitentiaries is in the prisons where there are many Serbs, who have hatred for the Croatian hooligans, but also the physical integrity of the Greeks and other prisoners, therefore orders have been issued and care has been taken to avoid contact that could lead to fights, while plans have been drawn up for increased measures and surveillance in all prisons, as well as readiness by local police authorities.
Where it is possible to keep them in special places, this will be done. For example, the 8 who were transferred to Korydallos are kept in the special ward, so that they do not have contact with other prisoners.
