The elected mayor of Heimarra, Fredis Beleris, is determined to continue his fight “until he finds himself in the position for which the people nominated him”. In his statements to journalists, Fredis Beleris states that “I am fine, I am strong. I am waiting. It’s been 3 months. I am determined to sit here as long as it takes to be sworn in as mayor and go where the people of Himarra have appointed me.”
Asked by a journalist about today’s demonstration in which the mayors of Athens and Thessaloniki are participating, Mr. Beleris said that “I want to thank them for their support. I would also like to thank all the Greek people that I follow from the M.E. that are interested in the issue and support”.
Answering to a question from the SKAI journalist, Christos Nikolaidisfor the fact that while he is in custody he has been named strategic investor the president of the municipal councilFredis Beleris answered verbatim that “the only reason I am in is the grabbing of properties and the stealing of these properties from the native Greek residents on behalf of strategic investors who, mainly, are friends of the government and the prime minister” and he continued “every day for these three months illegal buildings are mushrooming and properties are being damaged, permits are being given only to non-locals”.
