At this time there are three major fronts of the fire: the front in the Apalo – Amphitriti area, in Loutro and in Pylaia.
However, strong winds are still blowing in the area which keep the danger and concern of the fire chiefs very high.
The battle with the flames in the settlement of Loutros started at night, which was surrounded by the fire that passed through the yards of houses.
The Fire Department forces managed to limit it, opening large fire zones towards the airport and Alexandroupoli, with the machines of the army and the Region and making a barrier with fire trucks and with the assistance of volunteers, OTA forces and the army.
Since the morning, the efforts have been located on a large front that still exists east of the Loutros settlement, while in the rest of the area of the fire, many scattered outbreaks are being dealt with.
