In Kalymnos, yesterday morning, a LS-EL.AKT patrol boat located and freed a total of thirty-one people from a rocky shore, while the trafficker, a 24-year-old foreigner, was also arrested.
The rescued were safely transported to the port of Kalymnos while a preliminary investigation is being carried out by the Port Authority of Kalymnos.
In Kos this morning, patrol boat L.S. – EL. AKT. while on a scheduled patrol, spotted an inflatable speedboat moving without navigation lights, towards the waters of Agios Fokas.
The Coast Guard used light and sound signals to immobilize it, with negative results.
A pursuit followed, resulting in the immobilization of the speedboat and the collection by the patrol boat of twenty foreign women (19 adults and 1 minor), in good health, and their safe transport to the port of Kos.
A preliminary investigation is carried out by the Port Authority of Kos.
