Yesterday morning, the Port Authority of Rhodes proceeded to locate and rescue 25 foreigners both from the shore and from a semi-submerged inflatable boat off the Kallithea Springs, following relevant information.

Patrol boat L.S. immediately went to the scene. – EL.AKT., patrol vessel L.S. – EL.AKT., lifeboat L.S. – EL.AKT., A/C boat and two (02) patrol vehicles L.S. – EL. AKT. from land, while a super puma helicopter also took off.

The patrol boat spotted two foreigners in the area in question, near a half-submerged inflatable dinghy, rounded them up and then they transferred to the lifeboat and were transported to the port of Rhodes.

At the same time, officers of the Port Authority located 23 people from land, on the beach of Pigon Kallithea and rounded them up.

In total, 25 foreigners (9 men, 10 women, 4 boys and 2 girls), all in good health, were transferred to the Port Authority of Rhodes, while a diver carried out an underwater search at the site of the semi-submerged boat, with negative results.

A preliminary investigation is carried out by the Central Port Authority of Rhodes.
