With the aim of stopping the progress of the Dadia fire towards the west and specifically towards Leptokarya, the Local Civil Protection Coordinating Body of the Municipality of Alexandroupolis, in the morning meeting held, decided to adopt the proposal of the Alexandroupolis Forestry Department, which provides for the intervention of four fire engines in cooperation with loggers of the forestry cooperatives in the area of ​​Megalo Rema of Aisymi in Sanidohori.

The assistance of the farmers who have tankers to supply the fire brigade vehicles with water will also be requested as there are problems with electricity and water supply in several settlements.

As far as the active fronts are concerned, since the early hours of the morning the fire that has been burning since yesterday in Kirki and Sykorrachis descended towards the area of ​​Aura where firefighting forces are operating.

Also, a fire front coming from Dadia is moving towards the settlements of Koila and Melia which are being evacuated as well as towards the stream of Itea in Manthea.

Finally, there is also a fire front in the area of ​​Mavropetra which is moving southwest towards Sykorrachis and the Prefecture of Rodopi.
