Shocking video footage shot by firefighting helicopter operating in Parnitha.

The video obtained by SKAI shows it forehead size in the area.

The message said: “Forest fire in the area. If you are in the area of Agia Paraskevi Menidi and Kapotas, move away towards the center of Menidi. Follow the instructions of the authorities”.

In the meantime, relatives of a 77-year-old man are looking for his traces in Hasiaas in the last hours they cannot locate him.

New traffic regulations

In new traffic regulations have been implemented by the Police in the area of Fyli due to the ongoing fire. In particular, vehicular traffic was stopped on the following roads:

On the Avenue of Fylis and the Holy Dormition Monastery of the Theotokos “Kleisten” Fylis

Also another message was sent for evacuation of the Lefanto area towards the center of Ano Liosion.

From the morning it became known that the fire that started yesterday at noon has broken in two, with one front to move towards Dardiza, Agios Ioannis ton Rossos and Agia Paraskevi and the other to Decelia.

They operate 202 firefighters with 9 groups of infantry departments, 65 vehicles and 7 aircraft of which 2 from Sweden and 2 from Germany as well as 8 helicopters of which 1 for aerial coordination have been allocated for aerial firefighting.

At the same time they are operating strong forces of volunteer firefighters with infantry divisions, forces that have been made available by the General Staff of National Defense, the Hellenic Police, as well as water tankers and project machinery of the Attica Region.

Speaking this morning to SKAI 100.3, the deputy mayor of Menidi, Stathis Topalidis, announced that three nursing homes with 150 people were evacuatedwhich have currently been moved to the town hall.
