The special O Melhor de São Paulo Gastronomia – Restaurantes, Bares e Cuisine brings a selection of more than 900 places to eat and drink in the city, presented according to their specialty and with information about the neighborhoods in which they are located.

In addition to the selection, the project highlights winners elected by the specialized jury and highlights the opinion of city residents through a Datafolha survey, which draws up a list of the best addresses in São Paulo according to São Paulo residents.

ASIATIQUE

Bentôs, sandos, ramen and other recipes from Asian culture occupy the menu. Among the Japanese lunchboxes, which come in boxes with dividers, is the chicken katsu, made with fried chicken, gohan (rice), vegetable gyoza and salad (R$48.80). The house ramen has a tonkotsu base, with caramelized pancetta (R$52.80).

ASKA

Home-made ramen and gyoza are the recipes on which the menu focuses. So, start with the golden dumplings in meat or meat with vegetables flavors (R$18). In the stew section, there is miso ramen with meat, chives, wakame, naruto, bamboo, nori and egg (R$ 29).

BENEDICT

It is in a space that looks like an old house that the restaurant serves some classics of Brazilian food. Between Tuesday and Friday, dishes are served, such as fish fillet breaded in cornmeal with rice, beans, farofa, cabbage and vinaigrette (R$45).

BOTANIST

The wi-fi is turned off so that customers can pay attention to their dishes during brunch, lunch and dinner. The house cheese bread is prepared with Canasta and stuffed with creamy scrambled egg (R$14). The dish made by Botanista, served from Monday to Friday, includes roasted boneless drumstick with peanut pesto and parsley, black-eyed pea vinaigrette and rice (R$34).

CANTON

It has good dishes representing chifa cuisine, which mixes Peruvian and Chinese techniques and ingredients. The Cantón ceviche is made with tuna, tiger’s milk, tamarind sauce and peas, accompanied by wonton nachos (R$43). Wonton ramen has poultry broth, wonton (a dumpling similar to gyoza) stuffed with chicken and pork, chicken breast, noodles, quail egg and Chinese mushroom (R$44).

COMEDORIA OF SESC MAY 24

Located in the cultural center installed in the building designed by Paulo Mendes da Rocha, it offers well-served meals. There are two dishes at lunch, one with meat and one without. The menu, with inventive options, changes every week. I have already brought, for example, the cabbage cigar stuffed with black rice, tofu and Brazil nuts with lemon sauce. Those with Sesc credentials pay BRL 9 and visitors, BRL 26.

DA QUEBRADA

In a property surrounded by a garden, the restaurant-school of the Peripheral Gastronomy project operates. The location and ingredients are provided by the food brand Mãe Terra. They are also suppliers of agroecological farmers in neighborhoods such as Parelheiros. It is coordinated by chef Raul Godoy, formerly of Bio, who prepares dishes such as feijoadinha, with brown rice, farofa, cabbage, heart of palm and banana (R$ 40.90).

TWO TEREZAS

The cassava coxinha portion at chef Mariana Pelozio’s restaurant has chicken added to the pasta, with cheese and cream cheese (R$40), and goes well with a caipirinha (R$34). The place serves brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. The combo includes scrambled eggs, homemade bread, fruit of the day, cake, butter, jam, cheese spread and a hot or cold drink (R$40, individual).

EL GUATÓN

Known spot in Pinheiros, dedicated to Chilean food. As an example, humita, traditional in Andean regions, is a kind of salty pamonha, seasoned in the house style (R$ 18.90). There are ceviches like congrio (white fish) with lemon, salt and black pepper, accompanied by homemade bread (R$95.70, serves two). The empanadas cost from R$ 13.90.

STELE PASSONI

Focused on healthy cuisine, it has an extensive menu. To order for lunch, there are options for grilled tilapia with dahl of lentils and vegetables, brown rice and almond flakes (R$ 57) and peach palm moqueca with brown rice with coconut, cassava flour and Brazil nut farofa (BRL 49).

MAPU

From the small red window, it is possible to see the movement of the cooks in the preparation of the dishes. Eggplant from Mapu is a breaded starter topped with miso sauce and chives (R$33). The baos, like the pancetta one, with preserves, peanuts and coriander, cost R$29. The drinks menu mixes classics and Brazilian flavors without forgetting the Taiwanese touch.

MARIPILI

Neighbors and with the same owner, the restaurants Maripili and Carmen la Loca share the chef and the menu. The list of tapas, the Spanish snacks, includes croquetas de rabo de toro, made from beef tail (R$39). A good dish is the black rice with rings and squid ink and grilled shrimp (R$84) or the carrilhada, a beef cheek in wine with mashed potatoes (R$54).

BLEND

The Bolivian Checho Gonzales transformed a garage into a charming restaurant that mixes his Latin American references. Start with the mashed potato dumplings stuffed with leeks and mushrooms, served with house-made mayonnaise (R$33). As a main dish, the roasted pirarucu accompanied by carioca bean stew, black bean vinaigrette prepared with cilantro and hot bitter leaves with garlic and bacon (R$ 64).

OCCUPATION JULY 9

Every Sunday, the Movimento Sem Teto do Centro serves lunch, often prepared by famous chefs, such as Helena Rizzo and Paola Carosella. From the kitchen, for example, grilled meat with mustard sauce and sour cream, accompanied by rice, farofa and vinaigrette with mango. With each meal, a warm dish is donated to vulnerable people. SOBARIA KITCHEN SOUTH MATOGROSSENSE

Thanks to Japanese immigration, sobá, a type of buckwheat pasta from Okinawa, is widely consumed in the region of Campo Grande (MS). The restaurant serves bowls of noodles with hot broth, filet mignon with ginger, omelette and chives (R$48). There is also Pantanal piranha broth (R$36) and termite milk with vinaigrette, rice, farofa and cassava (R$44).
