With the landing yesterday of the two Typhoons from Saudi Arabia and the impressive Fursan demonstration swarm from the United Arab Emirates, the arrivals of participants in this year’s 11th Athens Flying Week 2023, which will take place at Tanagra Air Base on the 2nd and 3rd, continued September.

As the chairman of the organizing committee of Athens Flying Week 2023, Panagiotis Podimatas, pointed out to APE-MBE, the presence of the flock from the Emirates is a significant success, as it rarely performs outside their country.

This is the second time they come to Europe and the first time to Greece, to participate in Athens Flying Week 2023 is even more important.

In addition, Mr. Podimatas pointed out his arrival and landing as wellof the Saudi Arabian Demonstration Squadron Saudi Hawks – thus increasing to three the foreign groups expected to enrich the program of Athens Flying Week 2023.

As Mr. Podimatas added, within the next few days, the rest of the flocks and the other aircraft that will participate in the impressive demonstrations promised by this year’s Athens Flying Week 2023 will land in Athens.

Particularly for this year, the presence of the American F-35 and the French Rafale, among others, is expected with great interest.

While the Solo F-16s from Belgium and Denmark, and the Greek teams “Dias” and “Daedalos” should be added to the large number of participations.

As for the teams, in addition to the Saudi and Emirati teams, the Spanish Patrulla Aguila and teams from Switzerland and Belgium, and the acrobatic team from Kavala will also participate, while a disabled team will arrive from Italy for the first time pilots, proving how much the human will can achieve.

Also, special mention should be made here of the presence of the world aerobatic champion Luca Bertosio, while the event will also be accompanied by Greek Sky Diving and Gliding teams. A surprise of the event will be the participation of the Aegean civil aircraft fleet.
