The evaluation of Market Pass is positive for the Minister of Finance, Kostis Hatzidakis, since as he reported to ERT “it worked and is expected to continue to work for some time” when asked about the issue of accuracy in food. For more details, however, he referred to an update that will be given by the prime minister.

Regarding the same issue, Mr. Hatzidakis added that “however, a basic tool that we will have from the first of the year for civil servants is certainly the salary increase. In this regard, for the private sector it is the increases that have already been given to the minimum wage.”

In particular, regarding the same issue, the Minister of Finance emphasized that: “The government is trying to deal with the issue of accuracy in different ways. One way is the Market Pass, which was also criticized, but nevertheless worked and supported Greek households to some extent. A second way is the salary increases of civil servants after 14 years. Cumulatively, the annual support of public servants is 1,476 euros with all the interventions of the government, but also the increases given to the private sector with the increase of the minimum wage and with the increases of the other employees”.
