With the same decision, the water bills will be zero for the residents of the municipal unit of Fylis and the Panorama areas of Ano Liosia for the second quarter of 2023, i.e. the months of April, May and June.
The Municipality of Fylis is making an important move, after the recent fire that “struck” its area. By decision of the mayor Christos Pappous, the water consumed by the residents of the municipal units of Fylis and Ano Liosion will be free for the third quarter of 2023, i.e. for the months of July, August and September, as an additional measure of support for those affected.
With the same decision, the water bills will be zero for the residents of the municipal unit of Fylis and the Panorama areas of Ano Liosia for the second quarter of 2023, i.e. the months of April, May and June.
As Mr. Pappus mentioned in APE-MPE, consumers will not be charged with water supply fees, as the exemption includes fixed, network maintenance, as well as consumption.
“The bill above will have the measurement of consumption, it will also list the cubic meters consumed, but the amount will be zero,” the mayor of Filis told the Athenian-Macedonian News Agency and added: “We judged this to be fair, as a support to our fellow citizens who fought the fire, but also for the rest, who had to water their yards and the greenery”.
From there, the municipality will immediately proceed with the restoration of the Olive Tree of the Tribe and therefore invited the citizens, whose olive trees were affected by the fire of August 22, to declare their number to the competent Service at the town hall, but also the number they wish to be supplied by the municipality for planting, free of charge.
As announced by the municipal authority, the municipality will also undertake the cleaning of the farm, the planting of trees and their maintenance, under the supervision of its agriculturists.
In essence, this is an extension of the “Olive” program, which has been ongoing for the last few years and according to which citizens who intend to plant olive trees on farms or plots of land in the municipal units of Ano Liosion and Zephyrio, can declare it to the municipality, which will provide them with the necessary olive trees free of charge.
A similar program of environmental interventions of the municipality is “Melissa”, which is also ongoing in collaboration with the beekeeping organizations, in order to strengthen the biodiversity of the area.
