The Ministry of Labor and Social Security announced today the implementation of the measure of the suspension of employment contracts of employees of companies affected by the fire, as well as the implementation of the measure of the suspension of employment contracts in the Fur industry.

Particularly,

Private sector companies, whose facilities suffer complete destruction or serious material damage from forest fires, may suspend the employment contracts of their employees until the damages caused due to this have been remedied, and in any case no more than three (3) months.

The employees, whose employment contract is suspended, are entitled to an extraordinary financial aid, as special purpose compensation, in the amount of five hundred and thirty-four euros (€534).

Businesses are required to submit a responsible declaration every month to the P.S. “ERGANI”, with which they declare the employees whose contracts are suspended. After the first declaration of suspension of the business-employer, the eligible employees submit a responsible declaration on the online platform https://supportemployees.services.gov.gr

Also, from 12/9/2023, PS ERGANI will be available to companies – employers active in the Fur industry affected by the consequences of the war in Ukraine to submit declarations of suspension of their employees’ employment contracts for the month of September 2023.
