The President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou, today Saturday September 2, will go with the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to Ilia following a joint invitation from the Municipalities of Andravidas-Kyllini and Pyrgos, as well as the Holy Metropolis of Ilia and Oleni.

In particular, at 11:00 Mrs. Sakellaropoulou and the Ecumenical Patriarch Mr. Bartholomeos will attend the official eulogy at the Holy Church of the Apostles Constantine and Helen in Andravida and then at 11:45, they will go to the City Hall of the city, where the ceremony of declaring them Honorary Citizens of the Municipality of Andravida-Kyllini will take place.

In the afternoon, at 20:00, the President of the Republic and the Ecumenical Patriarch will visit the Town Hall of the city of Pyrgos, where they will be declared Honorary Citizens of the Municipality of Pyrgos.

Immediately after, there will be an event with traditional dances, in the central square of Pyrgos, as well as greetings from the Ecumenical Patriarch, Mr. Bartholomew, the Metropolitan of Ilias and Oleni etc. Athanasios, as well as the Mayors of Pyrgos Mr. Panagiotis Antonakopoulos and Mr. Ioannis Lentza of Andravidas-Kyllini.

On Sunday, September 3, in the morning, a Patriarchal Divine Liturgy will be held at the Metropolitan Church of Agios Nikolaos Pyrgos, patron of the Ecumenical Patriarch.

For the afternoon of the same day, a visit to the Holy Monastery of Skafidias is planned, as well as a concert by the Mixed Choir of Myrtoundia under the direction of Mrs. Lena Sourmeli, and the Mixed Choir of the Lyceum of Greek Women, under the direction of Mrs. Konstantinas Sakka-Kyritsis, with the accompaniment of the traditional music orchestra “Ortsa”.
