The Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection is calling municipalities and regions to be ready to deal with extreme weather phenomena after an emergency meeting led by Minister Vassilis Kikilia with business and service agencies.

In the announcement issued, a strong recommendation is addressed to agencies and citizens for increased attention from all.

The entire announcement of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection:

“According to forecasters, storm Daniel will start tonight and last for at least 24 hours. It will hit Thessaly, Pieria, Sporades, Northern Evia and Fthiotida with heavy rain.

We will have rains and storms that will be of very high intensity and duration and therefore can potentially cause flooding.

According to our meteorologists, this is an extreme natural phenomenon. Special attention is required from everyone. Agencies and citizens.

As the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection we have informed all Municipalities and all Regions to take the necessary measures for dangerous weather phenomena.

Municipalities and Regions must place special emphasis in the field of cleaning plots, streams, and wells.

Finally, regarding the Evros there is currently no active front, we are on guard and alert and the battle is obviously ongoing.”
