A 45-year-old man was arrested in the Kallikrateia of Halkidiki on the charge that he posted a video on his social media account, where he presents himself as a member of the self-proclaimed “Syntax Guards” and is seen allegedly patrolling the streets of Thessaloniki with supposed EL.AS patrol cars. inviting, at the same time, Internet users to join the “Guardian Body A 120 Syntagma”.

The video in question, lasting more than 3 minutes, was posted on his account last August and was reproduced by other users of the same social platform.

The 45-year-old appears in front of six I.X. having placed in them beacons like those used by EL.AS.

This particular post is accompanied by expressions such as “Have you realized how easy it is to understand Greece” or “Greeks, join the A120”.

The post caused the intervention of the Thessaloniki Prosecutor’s Office, which ordered a preliminary investigation.

In this context, police officers of the State Security Directorate of Thessaloniki located him and arrested him.

A case file was filed against him for the offenses of “Threatening to commit crimes – crimes in public and via the Internet and participating in it”, “Incitement to commit crimes in public and via the Internet, committed and attempted”, “Defiance of public service committed and attempted by public”, “Unlawful attempted and serial violence” and violation of the “Weapons Act” and was taken to the prosecutor

A car headlight, a folding knife, handcuffs, a portable loudspeaker system and “Constitution Custodians” stickers were found in a vehicle owned by him.

During preliminary investigation, he is reported to have said that the lighthouse and the knife were found in his possession because he is voluntarily active in fire safety, while he apologized that he had no intention of replacing EL.AS with his actions and that he would “download” the video in question.

He was referred to be tried by the automatic procedure at the Single-Member Criminal Court of Thessaloniki.
