There are more than 600 citizens who have so far been freed with the assistance of the Armed Forces from the areas of Thessaly that were affected by the extreme weather phenomena – mainly from the villages of Karditsa and Trikala.

At the moment, 378 people are operating, including a 70-person company of the 7th MKS with suitable rescue equipment and climbing materials, 42 personnel of the 32nd Infantry Brigade, an Emergency Company of the “Xenokratis” plan with 71 people and 36 people in addition to provided for in the “Xenocratis” Plan in immediate readiness for intervention where required.

Also operating are 68 people from the 34th Motorized Brigade in Agia Triada Karditsa and Agia Kyriaki Trikala, 19 people from the XXIV Armored Brigade in Palamas Karditsa and 16 people from the Special Disaster Response Department.

Also, a company of the 7th Marine Corps with 70 people with suitable rescue equipment, climbing and diving equipment, watercraft and special vehicles is moving towards the affected areas.

– 24 tracked personnel transport vehicles (TPVs).

– 13 special Hummer vehicles.

– 46 general purpose vehicles.

– 3 buses.

– 2 Mini Buses.

– 1 ambulance.

– 14 Engineer machines.

– 4 Landing Vehicles.

– 12 Chariot Carriers.

– 52 boats.

– 6 bridge pairs transport vehicles and 6 LCB type boats.

A frigate is in the Pagasitic Gulf, a tanker is underway to the Pagasitic area, while 5 Search and Rescue helicopters and 2 CH-47D CHINOOK helicopters are operating.

In addition, 3 helicopters, a C-130 transport aircraft, a Navy fast transport ship to accommodate evacuees, 62 buses, 15 minibuses, 19 Engineer machines, 121 general purpose vehicles, Bailey bridges to be placed where required, 932 people of the “Xenokratis” Plan in the areas of responsibility of ASDYS and the 1st Army, 60 people of “Deucalion”, 181 people of the Emergency Assistance Force (DYSEA) as well as suitable accommodation areas for flood-affected citizens within the Camps of the wider affected area.
