Three tugboats are expected – In the port of Lavrio the “Aikaterini P”
At the anchorage of the port of Rafina, the “Fast Ferries Andros” remains with 734 passengers, which in its attempt to disengage its anchor from the anchor of “Ekaterini P” suffered mechanical damage.
According to the Coast Guard, three tugboats are expected to be deployed to help the ship dock in the area where the force 6 Beaufort winds are blowing. At the same time, an attempt will be made to pull the anchor of “Fast Ferries Andros” which was entangled with the anchor of “Aikaterini P” and the “Super ferry”.
It is noted that the passenger ferry “Super ferry” sailed normally for its route with 551 passengers to Andros, Tinos, Mykonos, while the passenger “Aikaterini P” with 391 passengers which in the process lost one of its two anchors and sailed under his own power to the port of Lavrio where he is expected to be temporarily prohibited from sailing. The passengers of “Ekaterini P” will depart on another ship.
At the moment, however, there is no problem with the berthing and disembarking of ships in the port of Rafina since the incident.
According to the Coast Guard, the “Champion jet” and “Andros Queen” will normally carry out their itineraries from the port of Rafina.
