A simple game shortly after midnight on Saturday 09/09 in the area of ​​Finikia turned into an episode that shocked the local community. Three minors, who turn 18 this year, playing with an air gun experienced the horror of the traumatic experience. One of them was injured by his cousin’s hand and was taken to PAGNI with minor injuries. The youths were arrested, while the father of one of them, the owner of the gun, 49 years old, is under investigation as to how the airgun ended up in the hands of the minors.

The three with the air gun of the father of one of them, decided to play a simple game. However, naivety and lack of awareness of the dangers involved in the use of weapons led to an undesirable result.

During the game, the air gun went off uncontrollably, injuring one of the youths in the hand. The call for help was made immediately, and the injured man was transported to the University General Hospital of Heraklion, where he was found to have minor injuries and remained under observation.

The police authorities, approaching the case with great seriousness, arrested the three for disciplinary reasons. At the same time, they launched an investigation into how the air gun ended up in the hands of the minors. The father of one of the youths, aged 49, has been charged with negligent storage of a firearm, and authorities are investigating how the air gun became accessible to the youths.
