Domestic helper arrested for involvement in the theft of a safe from an apartment, in July 2019 and with the loot includingperfumes worth 500,000 euros and 8,000 euros in cash.

After an investigation by the Property Crimes Department of Thessaloniki, the details of a total of four people (all citizens of Georgia) were identified for the case.

In addition to the 27-year-old domestic worker, who remains in custody, the case file includes three men (39, 52 and 46 years old) who are accused either as natural perpetrators or as accomplices in the act of theft.

The police investigation revealed that the perpetrators entered the apartment (in the center of Thessaloniki) without leaving any traces of a burglary and “lifted” the safe, which they “loaded” into a getaway car. In order to solve the case, cooperation with EUROPOL was preceded, as stated in a Police announcement.

The 46-year-old, one of the accused, had been arrested earlier and after his confession was released with restrictive conditions, while his two co-accused, who remain unarrested, seem to have fled abroad at their own expense European arrest warrants were issued.
