The “masterminds” the key members and their common supplier were arrested while the case file that was formed includes a total of (120) people
They dislocated two circuits where they trafficked – traded narcotics (mainly cocaine and cannabis) operating simultaneously in Santorini.
Nine people (four foreigners and five citizens) aged 29, 33, 43, were arrested on Saturday (September 9, 2023) in Thira and Tinos, as part of the targeted police operation organized by the Thira Police Sub-Directorate with the assistance of the Tinos Police Department. 47, 24, 26, 32, 51 and 26 years old.
A criminal case file was filed against them for the specific offenses of forming-participating in a criminal organization, supply, storage and trafficking of narcotic substances, money laundering, and weapons possession.
An additional 111 people are involved in the same case, of which three are direct accomplices of the arrested.
In more detail, after many months of methodical research, collection, analysis and processing of elements and data, the parallel operation and mode of action of the two criminal organizations, the hierarchical structure, the identity of their members, the interconnections and individual collaborations between them, the intended purpose, the benefits and the means they used to achieve them.
How did they act?
As it emerged, from the ongoing police investigation, at least since the end of 2022 the two criminal networks, with leading members, the 29-year-old and 33-year-old (foreigners) respectively, were acting in parallel and at the same time trafficking drugs (cocaine, cannabis, etc.) they were supplied by the 43-year-old (common supplier) and channeled to interested users on the island of Thira, reaping great financial benefits which one of the organizations used to establish and operate a vehicle rental business.
What did the investigations find?
During the investigations carried out, the following were found in the possession of the perpetrators and confiscated, among others:
• Cocaine weighing 98.5 grams
• Cannabis weighing 20.7 grams
• MDMA weighing 29 grams
• Heroin weighing 4 grams
• “Crack” production lab equipment
• 4 precision scales
• 5 cannabis shredders
• Air pistol and 3 knives
• 33 mobile phones and 21 sim cards
• 2 IXE cars
• The sums of 7,385 euros, 147 US dollars, 50 Australian dollars, 40 British pounds
• Valuables
• Handwritten notes with names and drug dosages
• Digital data storage media and Computer
• Drug use devices
It is noted that, as it was established, one of the members of a criminal organization had set up a “crack” production laboratory from the processing – “cooking” of cocaine with the ultimate aim of increasing the profits of the circuit from the trafficking of this “product”.
Those arrested are taken to the Naxos District Court.
The investigation of the case is part of the special operational actions of the South Aegean Police Services to combat the spread of drugs.
