After the devastating invasion of bad weather Daniel there is a triple threat to the population in that part of the country, which is large, epidemiologist Dora Psaltopoulou pointed out while speaking to SKAI.

In particular, he said that there are three threats: infectious diseases, the possibility of worsening non-communicable diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, which is observed in such cases and psychological stress, post-traumatic syndrome, anxiety and depression.

It is important, he said, to have clean water and safe food, which is not the case in all affected areas. That’s why he called on the population to consume bottled water and packaged food until he is notified by the authorities that there is restoration in the water supply network.

“We follow the instructions of the experts and use water only when the Authorities tell us” noted Ms. Psaltopoulou.

He also called for the attention of the population where there are dead animals, while sounding the alarm about the proliferation of West Nile virus mosquitoes.

He also called on the population if they see suspicious symptoms, such as fever, vomiting, gastrointestinal problems, to contact a doctor.

He also emphasized that people who do not follow their treatment should be careful.
