The next round of applications opens tomorrow, Friday, September 15 Market Pass August – October with the aim of relieving households from increased shopping costs.

Citizens can submit applications, either through the digital platform vouchers.gov.gr, or through the KEP, from September 15 to Tuesday October 31.

It is clarified that no new application is required for those who have already received the aid in the previous cycles.

However, they can submit a new application, until September 25, if they wish to modify the method of granting the aid or if the IBAN number of the bank account of their choice has changed, in relation to the first payment.

Beneficiaries of the extraordinary financial aid

Beneficiaries of the Market Pass are all tax residents of Greece who have submitted a tax return for 2022 on time and whose annual total income does not exceed:

  • 16,000 euros for an unmarried debtor or a debtor in a widowed or estranged state,
  • 24,000 euros for a married debtor or the married or the parties to a cohabitation agreement who submit a separate tax return without children, which is increased by five thousand (5,000) euros for each dependent child, other dependent member and guest member of the household,
  • 24,000 euros for a single-parent family and is increased by five thousand (5,000) euros for each dependent child, other dependent member and guest member, after the first.

In addition to, the total value of the real estate must not exceed the amount of two hundred and fifty thousand (250,000) euros for singles, widowed or separated debtors and the amount of four hundred thousand (400,000) euros for married or cohabiting parties and single-parent families.

Beneficiaries can choose the way to receive the Market Pass financial support:

  • either by issuing an immaterial digital card, which they will store on their smart phone and which they will show in their purchases,
  • or through direct payment of the subsidy amount to a bank account that they will declare. In this case, the beneficiaries will receive 80% of the amount due to them.

Calculation of financial aid amounts

The aid is 10% of the monthly amount of purchases up to 1,000 euros and its amount starts from 22 euros per month for single-member households and is increased by 10 euros for each additional member of the household.

The above purchase limit does not apply to beneficiaries with more than six (6) dependent children.

Dates of payment of the aid

The subsidies for the months of August, September and October 2023 will be paid:

  • Until September 29, 2023: a) for applications that will be submitted until September 25, 2023 b) for those who had already received the aid during the previous period and are eligible again. A necessary condition is that the tax returns of the beneficiaries have been cleared by September 25, 2023.
  • Until November 5, 2023 for applications submitted after September 25 and until October 31, 2023, and for those whose tax returns are cleared after September 25.

It is noted that due to the processing of the data by the banks, the beneficiaries may see the amounts credited to their accounts 1-2 days later than the above mentioned dates.
To serve the users of the information system, a manual for the use of the electronic application is available as well as a service for the users (help desk) for reporting and solving problems and providing instructions.
