Two new fires broke out in forests Sunday afternoon, at Megalopolis of Arcadia and at Thesprotiawith the first indications attributing their event to “lightning”.
Specifically, the first fire occurred at the site of Beduritsa in the Municipality of Megalopolis. The reaction of the competent services was immediate, as 37 firefighters operated in the extinguishing, reinforced by two 9th hikers, a total of 10 vehicles, as well as aerial means: two aircraft and one helicopter.
The second fire broke out in the area of Kerasohori in the Municipality of Filiates, in Thesprotia. There are 22 firefighters on the spot, with a team of 8th hikers, five vehicles, two aircraft and one helicopter.

According to Fire Brigade information, None of the two fires threaten residential areas. The forces remain alert to manage the fireplace and complete extinguishing.
