The new head of the Economic Prosecutor’s Office was chosen by the Supreme Judicial Council of the Supreme Court after the departure of Christos Bardakis, the appeals prosecutor Panagiotis Kapsimalis.
The Supreme Judicial Council (eleven members) with the participation of the Prosecutor of the Supreme Court Georgia Adelini and the President of the Supreme Court Ioanna Klapas chose the new head of the Financial Prosecutor’s Office, who was already serving in the Financial Prosecutor’s Office, as a deputy of the retired Christos Bardakis and who has in the recent past handled heaps of important cases.
Prosecutor Panagiota Fakou, who in the past had also served as head of the Athens Prosecutor’s Office and was already serving in the Economic Prosecutor’s Office as a substitute, was also chosen for the Economic Prosecutor’s Office as a regular member, as well as assistants Konstantinos Spiliopoulos and Maria Papadopoulou for Athens, while for Thessaloniki, prosecutors Olga Zafeiridou and Dimitra Tsiardiakli.
