The platform was opened for the compensations of the citizens whose household appliances were damaged by the power outages due to the bad weather “Elpida”.
The Minister of Environment, Costas Skekas stated to ANT1 that a HEDNO platform is already operating so that the beneficiaries can submit their data and declare the damage.
At the same time, he added that those who were left without electricity for more than 24 hours will be compensated, however he did not want to mention the amounts that are planned to be given.
“One can not say that everything went perfectly when households were left without electricity for days, after the bad weather,” said Mr. Skrekas, who said that HEDNO and its mechanism are trying to improve. He stressed that infrastructure projects are underway and a gigantic effort begins for the undergrounding of PPC cables.
He also stressed that HEDNO has started the installation of 4 million smart meters, which, as he said, will help the technicians to know exactly where there is a fault.
How long will the subsidy last on the electricity – gas bills?
Regarding the subsidies for electricity and gas bills, the Minister of Environment and Energy said that they will be given in February and stressed that the subsidy will be proportional to the increase that will take place in the wholesale trade.
“As long as the energy crisis lasts, we will support households and businesses,” said Mr. Skrekas.
Extension of 15 days in Save at Home
For the program Save at Home, he mentioned that a 15-day extension has been given and as he said, many things have changed. He noted that applications belonging to very low incomes have increased by 3 times, while he stated that there will be beneficiaries and runners-up. Potentially those who apply will be able to proceed with the renovation, stressed Mr. Skrekas.
Finally, he referred to the subsidy for electric cars and stressed that it will increase by 30%.
