In particular, the perpetrators using these elements in letter from supposedly competent auditing authoritiesthey try to deceive citizens – internet users, under the pretext that their recipient is involved in a case of pornography and other crimes.

In fact, in their attempt to give “authenticity” to the relevant letter, they used the logo of the Ministry of Citizen Protection, the Greek Police and Interpol, an impression of the seal of Cyprus with the alleged signature of the Chief of the Greek Police, trying to create the impression that it comes from by the Greek Police.

In this context, it is announced that the following text – message sent via electronic mail (email), as an alleged letter from the Chief of the Hellenic Police, Lieutenant General Lazaros Mavropoulos, which bears his name, as well as a false signature and a seal with the inscription “National Police – Director General of the Hellenic Police and Head of the Criminal Investigations Office” is clearly a fake and fraudulent and sent by perpetrators who are obviously attempting to deceive – mislead the citizens and subsequently obtain an illegal financial benefit.

What to do if you receive it

EL.AS appeals to citizens not to respond and to delete the specific message, as well as “not to open” the attached files to avoid being infected by malicious software.
