The three arrested persons who, according to the Thessaloniki police department, are involved in a case of blackmailing a 32-year-old man will be brought to the public prosecutor. Police officers of the Security Department of Ampelokipi – Menemeni, in the context of investigating a complaint, investigated the attempted extortion as an organized operation was carried out in areas of Thessaloniki, with the assistance of the Department of Prosecution of Extortionists, the Department of Prevention and Suppression of Crime and the Delta Security Department of the Thessaloniki Security Directorate .

In this context, three persons were arrested, one of whom had a pending Arrest Warrant from the Special Department of Criminal Investigations of Thessaloniki for the offenses of aggravated theft, and the details of six more persons were identified, against whom a case file was filed for, as the case may be, the offenses of robbery, breach of arms laws, attempted extortion, dangerous bodily harm and theft.

These are people, aged between 22 and 47, who, according to the police, from the end of August this year, with the threat of forcing the victim to leave his home by force, demanded the sum of money from the 32-year-old. of 25,000 euros, without however achieving their goal.

After the incident, the 32-year-old man left his house and according to the complaint, three of the perpetrators took advantage of his absence and took the amount of 20,000 euros from inside the house, as well as food worth about 3,000 euros.

In addition, the alleged perpetrators, in a meeting they had with the 32-year-old in September, again demanded the sum of 25,000 euros, while they then beat him, injuring him slightly, and took away his car at gunpoint, which was found and confiscated.
