Schools are closed today in the municipalities of Farsala, Kilelere and Agia – Traffic interruption and traffic regulations by the Police Department
The nightmare woke up yesterday in the area of Larissa, as twenty days after the invasion of the bad weather “Daniel” came that of “Elias” to declare a strong blow to several villages of Larissa which needed to be evacuated last night until the early hours of today.
Indicative of the new disaster are the images from the village of Hyperia in Farsala, next to the Enipea river, which was once again under water and mud.
We had smaller flooding phenomena in the also riverside villages of Evhydrio and Pyrgakia.
One after the other, the three municipalities of Larissa last night issued announcements that schools will remain closed today Thursday due to the bad weather conditions. These are the municipalities of Farsala, Killeler and Agia.
Blackout and darkness…
There were not a few areas that were left without electricity last night’s nightmarish night, including the beaches of Agia and several villages of Agia and Killeler.
Stoppage of traffic and traffic regulations by the Police Department
As announced in the early hours of the morning, due to the adverse weather conditions, the traffic of all vehicles was temporarily stopped in both traffic streams in P.E.O. Larissa – Volos, from the Platykampos roundabout (ext. 08+140) to the borders of Larissa with the Regional Unit of Magnesia (ext. 33+640).
Excluded: (a) Roadside Assistance vehicles. (b) Emergency vehicles.
Also, on the PATHE Motorway, from 06.00 on 21-09-2023, the traffic regulations were lifted that related to the ban on the movement of all vehicles over 3.5 tons on the P.A.TH.E. Motorway, from the A/C of Nikaia (x.th. 348+106) up to the borders with the Prefecture of Pieria, except for heavy vehicles (over 44 tons of gross load), whose traffic in the above section is not allowed. The movement of all vehicles, including vehicles over 3.5 tons and up to 44 tons, will be carried out from the left lane in both -2- traffic streams.
The movement of vehicles over 3.5 tons and up to 44 tons will be carried out at a maximum speed of up to 80 Km/h and a minimum distance of one hundred (100) meters between them.
Due to adverse weather conditions, the following temporary traffic regulations apply:
(a) Interruption of all vehicle traffic on the Larissa – Farsala National Highway in both traffic streamsfrom the boundaries of the Municipal Community of Nice (8+000) to Farsala.
(b) Cessation of the traffic of all vehicles in E.O. Farsala – Volosfrom Farsala to the borders with the Magnesia Regional Unit.
(c) Suspension of all vehicle traffic on the road network of the Municipality of Farsala. On the National Highway of Larissa – Kozani, traffic, from road 2+000 (Alkazar Roundabout) to the intersection of Giannoulis – Falanis, in both traffic streams, is allowed for all vehicles up to 30 tons.
For vehicles from 30 to 60 tons, they are allowed to pass alone and for vehicles over 60 tons, they are allowed to pass after a special transit permit. Traffic on the Larissa – Kozani National Road (flow towards Larissa), from the height of the Yannouli Worker’s Housing to the Pinios Bridge, will be carried out in the left traffic flow.
Suspension of vehicular traffic on the following provincial roads of the Municipality of Killeler: Sofou-Kalou Nerou district road, from its intersection with E.O. Larissa-Farsalon to the local community of Sofos, Myron-Neu Perivoli Provincial road, Doxara-Agiou Georgiou Provincial road, Achilleiou-Kalamaki Provincial road & Neo Perivoli-Agnanderi Provincial road.
Stoppage of traffic on the eastern and western side roads of the P.A.T.E. Motorway. in both traffic streams of the bypasses, from the height of the Gyrtonis A/K (p.th. 367+319) to the borders of the prefecture of Larissa with the prefecture of Magnesia (p.th. 323+439).
Suspension of all vehicle traffic in both traffic streams, on the right side road network of the P.A.Th.E highway. from the Hemicombo of Makrychorio (f/th 373+460) to the A/K Evangelismos (f/th 377+176).
Suspension of all vehicle traffic in both traffic streams of the Agiokambou – Kokkino Nero provincial road, from the height of the “KALATRAVA” bridge to Velika.
Suspension of vehicular traffic in both -2- traffic streams of the Elassona – Drymou Ring Road, from its junction with Mavrodimou Street to its junction with the Larissa – Kozani National Highway (r/th 42+800).
In addition, vehicular traffic has been temporarily suspended at the following points: on the Stomiou-Alexandrini provincial road, on the Paleopyrgou-Alexandrini provincial road & on the Omoliou-Paleopyrgou provincial road.
Newest update 08.03 am: The PEO Larissa – Volos road has been opened. It is announced that the temporary interruptions to vehicle traffic have been lifted: (a) on the P.E.O. Larissa – Volos from Junction 304 PEV to the city of Volos in both traffic streams (toward Volos & to Larissa). (b) in E.O. Volos – Farsalon from the “Red” position to Mikrothebes in both traffic streams (to Mikrothebes & to Volos).
