A large SUV type vehicle was discovered last Tuesday at noon in the Pamiso River. It all happened when GOEB officials decided to open the dam as a precaution to deal with the weather. Then, at the height of Triodos, the Nissan Qashqai brand vehicle was revealed by the falling water level of the river. The authorities were immediately notified and the car was recovered.

According to ERT, the specific vehicle found in the Pamisos river last Tuesday was the one used in the robbery of the ELTA of Messina at the end of last July.

At that time, three armed perpetrators, with heavy weapons, had managed to extract the amount of money of 135 thousand euros, immediately after the arrival of the money shipment and escape without being arrested. After the latest development, it is assumed that the perpetrators fled to the area of ​​Triodos and from there via side roads to Ari, where they dumped the car in Pamisos and escaped in an unknown direction in another vehicle with the help of their accomplices. So far, however, there is no official confirmation from the authorities.

Finally, it should be noted that at the beginning of last September, when the dam had been reopened to deal with weather phenomena, the stolen bronze bust of Papaflessas that had been stolen from Maniaki in 2022 had also been found.
