The 87 accused were brought to the Sub-Directorate for Combating Violence in Sports Venues and the North-Eastern Attica Security Sub-Directorate, while, as it was found, they happen to be fans of two different teams, which would compete in a stadium in the area later.
All individuals were arrested – as the case may be – for forming and participating in a criminal organization, for violating the laws on sports, weapons, flares, drugs and disturbing the public peace and will be taken to the relevant prosecuting authority.
As pointed out in the relevant announcement: “The Greek Police, in the context of dealing with violence with a sports background, will continue to carry out checks with the aim of preventing and suppressing such phenomena”.
