Lots of thefts over a period of at least a month it appears that the members of the gang arrested last Saturday in Pyrgos by the Pyrgos Security Sub-Directorate had committed crimes in areas of Ilia.

The police investigated a total of 16 thefts committed by the defendants from 12-8-2023 until 28-9-2023, in Ilia, in houses, kiosks and warehouses, removing jewelry, agricultural tools, furniture, clothing, valuables and 19. 590 euros in cash.

The illegal financial gain obtained by the members of the criminal organization amounts to 38,630 euros, while the police seized two cars used by the defendants to commit the thefts and part of the stolen goods.

Two local men were arrested members of a criminal group involved in committing thefts in Ilia and a criminal case was filed against them for a criminal group, aggravated theft and damage to foreign property.

For this case, a case file was opened for the same offenses against another national man, whose full details have been identified, while in one case the participation of two more national men whose details have been identified was established and a case file was opened against them for theft.

In the context of the thorough and in-depth investigation of the Security Sub-Directorate of Pyrgos, it was found that the three defendants had formed an organized and continuously active criminal group, with the aim of committing distinguished thefts.

The arrested othey were brought to the District Attorney of Ilia.

The police officers of the Pyrgos Security Sub-Directorate are continuing their investigations to ascertain any involvement of the accused in other cases of theft.

“The Union of Police Officers of Ilia expresses its warm congratulations to the colleagues of the Pyrgos police station for solving sixteen (16) thefts, which took place in the period from the beginning of August until 29.09.2023 in houses, country houses and farmhouses of the wider area of ​​Pyrgos. In particular, after a thorough investigation, the colleagues of the YA Pyrgos proceeded to the arrest of two citizens against whom a criminal case was filed for violation of articles 187, 374 & 381 of the Criminal Code “Organization of a gang united to commit distinguished thefts and embezzlement”, while A third citizen is also co-accused for the above acts, who is already incarcerated in a detention center. The benefit obtained from the criminal activity of the above amounts to approximately 18,770 euros, while the amount of 19,590 euros is the money deducted from the total of the committed thefts. It is worth emphasizing that some of the removed items were found and returned to their owners.

Undoubtedly, this is yet another great success of the colleagues of the YA Pyrgos who, with method, professionalism and patience, managed to arrest the above, who with their actions were looting the property of the citizens of Ilia.
