A businessman and two policemen succeeded to injure a young man in Sithonia Halkidiki, using a knife and an iron rod, after earlier attempting to set fire to a vehicle. According to today’s announcement by the General Regional Police Directorate of Central Macedonia, the man was arrested yesterday at noon in the area of ​​Halkidiki, as earlier that day he went to a recycling operation, attempted to set fire to a vehicle and, with use of a knife, injured her owner’s hand business, age 51.

Using the same knife and an iron rod, he also injured two police officers, from the Police Department of Sithonia and the Traffic Department of Polygyros, who rushed to the scene in order to immobilize him. From the possession of the twenty-two-year-old man, originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo, a lighter, a can of petrol, the knife and the iron rod he used were removed and confiscated.

The owner of the business was taken to the Polygyros hospital and the two police officers to the Agios Nikolaos health center for first aid, as was the arrested person, who was injured during his immobilization. None of the four are in danger, according to police. The reasons for the man’s act are being investigated.
