He underlined that an extension was given until October 20 regarding the declarations of disasters in plant production
The message that the government will continue to stand by the farmers and in general the residents of Thessaly, who were affected by the floods, was sent by the Minister of Rural Development and Food, Lefteris Avgenakis during his visit to Karditsa.
According to an announcement by the FSAMr. Avgenakis in statements he made to the newspaper “Agon” of Karditsa, underlined that the producers of Thessaly “they are not alone, they know that from the first moment we were here in the field, all the leadership of the HYPAAT, in the company of fellow MPs and local executives».
He underlined that an extension was given until October 20 regarding the declarations of disasters in plant production and “immediately afterwards, the processing of these statements by ELGA executives, who have already been reinforced with additional staff, will proceed rapidly, so that we can have a complete picture in cooperation and in combination with the data we receive from “Copernicus”, which they are also updated and cross-referenced with our executives, so that we can make a final estimate of the damage cost of each produced product in the Thessaly regionas he said.
Finally, he expressed his optimism that “the society of Karditsa – as well as the whole of Thessaly – will send a resounding message of support for all this great effort that the government has made as a whole, but also the Region of Thessaly and the regional governor Kostas Agorastos, always with the co-assistance of the excellent fellow MPs, but also of the self-governing actors, such as the mayor of Karditsa, Vassilis Tsiakos”.
