Over 5,000,000 euros the damage according to the SDOE – Fine of 100,000 euros to those arrested
In a “monkey” product warehouse with items of clothing, accessories and cosmetic products bearing the brands of branded companies, they had transformed their home, two people Thessaloniki.
The investigation of the case was undertaken by police officers of the Economic Police Sub-Directorate of Northern Greece, with the assistance of the Economic Crime Prosecution Service (S.D.O.E.).
Two people were arrested for the case for forgery and violation of the legislation related to the regulation of the product market, while the case file also includes one person, who has been identified and is being sought.
From the search conducted at the warehouse on Friday, October 20, 2023, the following were found and seized:
- 20,237 pieces of imitation clothing, accessories and cosmetics, bearing brands of branded companies,
- 3,930 branded company stamps,
- 129 pieces of cosmetic products that were sold without documents and
- 8,210 euros.
It is noted that the total amount of the threatened loss, according to the expert opinions of the representatives of the companies so far, exceeds 5,400,000 euros.
Those arrested were taken to the competent prosecutor’s office, while at the same time they were imposed an administrative fine of 100,000 euros.
