Two foreign women, aged 23 and 24, were arrested by officers of the Paionia Police Department, in cooperation with officers of the Passport Control Department of Promahona, for telephone fraud. The investigation revealed that the two Bulgarians, together with their accomplice, formed a criminal group and called citizens pretending to be the doctor or their relatives who were allegedly injured, asking for money to undergo surgery.

Yesterday noon, their accomplice, pretending to be a doctor, called a 62-year-old woman in the area of ​​Kilkis and under the pretext that her minor granddaughter has allegedly been injured at school, they managed to extract the sum of 18,000 euros, which one of the foreign women received.

After coordinated actions by the authorities, the two foreign women were spotted riding in a vehicle in Serres Bastion, at the time they tried to exit the country. A search of their car revealed carefully hidden the sum of 17,200 euros, which was attributed to the victim, as well as an imitation pistol (replica).

Two mobile phones and 250 Bulgarian leva were also confiscated. found in their possession, as well as the vehicle they used. From the further investigation, it was established that earlier on the same day, they called three more citizens pretending to be their relatives who were allegedly injured, without however managing to extort money from them.

The investigation of the police continues to verify their possible participation in other similar criminal acts. Those arrested, with the case filed against them, they will be taken to the Kilkis District Prosecutor.
