Have you ever tried making mash waffles? So if you haven’t tasted this wonderful recipe yet, I think it’s time to do it.

If you want to put your own version on these waffles, you can mix some bacon with cheese and put it on top of the waffle. You can still omit the cheese entirely, although I’m not sure if you’ll want to do that, since these crispy waffles are better that way.

Also, if you have leftovers, you can reheat them in a non-stick pan on medium to low heat.

What will you need?

  • 1 cup cold tap water
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 spoon flour
  • 1/3 spoon of baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1-2 pinches of white pepper
  • 3/4 cup instant mashed potato flakes
  • 1/4 cup grated cheese

How to make it:

  1. Combine egg, water, first 6 ingredients in a medium mixing bowl. Then add the potato flakes and mix well to combine. Add the cheese and leave the mixture for 1-2 minutes.
  2. Heat your waffle iron to a medium to high temperature. Divide the potato mixture into four portions and bake each portion for 3-5 minutes, until golden and can be removed from the waffle iron without breaking.
  3. Serve immediately with a spoonful of sour cream or use as a base for an egg.
