A 42-year-old woman was injured yesterday afternoon in Platamonas, when due to the low passage of a Coast Guard helicopter near the beach front, umbrellas and seats were swept away in front of a health store.
According to an announcement by the Coast Guard, the 42-year-old woman was taken to the Litochoro Health Center for first aid, but no further hospitalization was required.
Officials of the relevant Port Authority immediately went to the scene of the incident while a preliminary investigation is being carried out by the police department of Dios-Olympos Prefecture of Pieria for a violation of article 314 of the criminal code regarding bodily harm by negligence.
The Minister of Shipping and Insular Policy, Christos Stylianidis, was informed about the incident, who immediately instructed the head of the Coast Guard to competently order a Sworn Administrative Examination regarding the incident.
In a video posted on the Tik Tok platform, the helicopter can be seen making an extremely low pass, causing havoc on the beach in the area.
