Serious incidents took place at ISAP station “Monastiraki” at 8 last night between far-right and anti-authoritarians, as can be seen in videos posted on social media.

Far-right and anti-authoritarians arrived there after the rallies and counter-rallies for the 10-year anniversary of the murder of Golden Dawn members in Neo Heraklion and fought almost hand-to-hand while the train was packed with people.

In videos posted by social media users, dozens of people wearing hoods and helmets can be seen clashing in the train in front of unsuspecting citizens.

In one of the videos, in fact, a helmet-wearer from the far-right group who was at the ISAP dock is seen throwing some liquid from a barrel with someone else shouting at him “burners, burners”.

It seems that the “battle” lasted for several minutes before the police intervened, as it is also mentioned in official announcement of ELAS for the account of what happened on Wednesday night in Neo Heraklion and the center of Athens.

Among the 13 arrested are 10 men, 4 women, 3 foreigners and 11 Greeks among them and a German.

Economou: EDE for the incident in Victoria

Citizen Protection Minister Yiannis Oikonomou stated: “Regarding material circulating from an incident in Victoria Square, in which police officers and arrestees are involved, I want to point out once again that EL.AS must operate based on the laws and official rules. For this reason, an urgent administrative examination will be conducted to clarify the incident, first of all, and assign any responsibilities in the second phase.”
